is there a reason jacman is in community? from what i can tell only judging by the dates it doesnt work with pacman 3
Comment by João Rodrigues (gothicknight) - Monday, 26 November 2007, 12:14 GMT
Is it even being maintained? Last release on AUR dates 11 moths ago... This should be moved to unsupported.

Seems users are still using it , thus this makes my previous comment invalid. It does work with pacman 3.
AFAIK its the only pacman GUI frontend left, and if it does still work i guess theres no reason to move it to unsupported at least at this time.

Sure, if possible contact the developer to report this or in case of unavailability patch it against mainline.
Also, i've installed jacman and can't reproduce this error but this one is shown followed by a huge amount of backtrace info

Locking assertion failure. Backtrace:
#0 /usr/lib/libxcb-xlib.so.0 [0xb7cec767]
#1 /usr/lib/libxcb-xlib.so.0(xcb_xlib_unlock+0x31) [0xb7cec8b1]
#2 /usr/lib/libX11.so.6(_XReply+0xfd) [0xab6e6a8d]
#3 /opt/java/jre/lib/i386/xawt/libmawt.so [0xab7ea64e]
#4 /opt/java/jre/lib/i386/xawt/libmawt.so [0xab7c8f97]
#5 /opt/java/jre/lib/i386/xawt/libmawt.so [0xab7c9248]
#6 /opt/java/jre/lib/i386/xawt/libmawt.so(Java_sun_awt_X11GraphicsEnvironment_initDisplay+0x2f) [0xab7c954f]
[...]

But it works as far as I can tell...

^^I'm not so sure on the details but that will be fixed much later by Sun, a static link bug or something. For the moment: sed -i 's:XINERAMA:FAKEEXTN:g' /opt/java/jre/lib/i386/xawt/libmawt.so
