Description:

The gnome-keyring-daemon has not been functioning for me since GNOME 2.20 was released. Apparently, the package is missing the required file:

/usr/share/dbus-1/services/gnome-keyring-daemon.service

Creating this file manually with the following contents addresses the issue:

[D-BUS Service]
Name=org.gnome.keyring
Exec=/usr/bin/gnome-keyring-daemon

ADDITIONAL INFO:

This applies to gnome-keyring 2.20.1-1

Gnome-keyring doesn't work with mail-notification. When entering the pop3 password in mail-notification, it says it cannot add a password to keyring.

moving mail-notification comments to  FS#9444 ...

downgrading mail-notification and adding IgnorePkg mail-notification to pacman.conf fixes the keyring terror.

Now there is a new nuisence called seahorse :( Still need to downgrade mail-notification in order to stop the keyring terror. Chatting with #gnome on /gimp.net they say it is a distro related thing. Since 2.19 keyring is in some way integrated with pam and apparently present keyring is not compiled against pam or something. I tried to recompile keyring myself but it fails when I remove keyring and gob2 and evolution that I do not even have on my system.

Any light on this crappy app would be most welcome. I have tried with all kinds of Google cookery to disable it, but it just won't work :(

The gnome devs say I should switch to ubuntoo, because it works there, but I'd rather commit public suicide than use ubunpoo - lol.
