JGC, remember myself? I said I have that issue too... It is not related with the 64bit fixes, it is another damn-annoying bug from the xorg guys...
Comment by Andrea Cimitan (Cimi) - Sunday, 14 October 2007, 23:55 GMT
and it won't start using nv too (and probably vesa)
Comment by Alexander Baldeck (kth5) - Friday, 19 October 2007, 13:17 GMT
should be fixed in 0.9.5-3, please test.
Comment by Andrea Cimitan (Cimi) - Friday, 19 October 2007, 18:45 GMT
no this is another bug.
Can't start with i686, vesa, nv and nvidia drivers with a geforce 3 card.
Comment by Andrea Cimitan (Cimi) - Friday, 19 October 2007, 18:46 GMT
the strange thing is that I have another pc with an FX 5900xt using
"Additional info:
* Xorg 7.3 kernel 2.6.23 and nvidia 100.14.19"
and it works...

Where does the symlink /usr/lib/xorg/modules/libwfb.so point to?

it should link with nvidia:
/usr/lib/xorg/modules/libvidiawfb.so.*

with any other driver installed:
/usr/lib/xorg/modules/libwfb.1.4.so

no linbvidiawfb.so.* with nvidia-96xx-utils
Comment by Alexander Baldeck (kth5) - Monday, 22 October 2007, 00:18 GMT
That's right. Only with version 100.x+ this lib has been introduced but xorg-server 1.4 ships it as well. Only nvidia-utils - i.e. not 96xx & 71xx - should link it. In that case the one provided by xorg-server should be used.

Priority must change to high
Comment by Andrea Cimitan (Cimi) - Monday, 05 November 2007, 19:18 GMT
did you fix that bug before taking xorg to Extra?
now I'm _really_ frightened on doing a pacman -Suy on my system.
I can get a broken system.
Comment by Alexander Baldeck (kth5) - Monday, 05 November 2007, 20:26 GMT
pixman has been updated to 0.9.6 fixing a ton of bugs. Since many systems I've seen running nvidia and nvidia-96xx that weren't able to reproduce the bug it has not been a showstopper for me.
Comment by Andrea Cimitan (Cimi) - Tuesday, 06 November 2007, 13:50 GMT
Ok i've updated... and they fixed it! :)
