Try to reinstall the package that ships foomatic-rip.

I've removed hplip with all depedencies including cups and
foomatic-* packages, then installed them again. After
reconfiguration my printer in cups, I'm still getting same message
- foomatic-rip failed and no printing is done.

Did you try to reinstall perl?

I have reinstalled perl and now everything works well. Thanks a
lot for useful solution.

Just a note about this perl "magic". Some older versions of pacman
had problems with symlinks and perl was not able to find all its
modules due to absense of a certain symlink.
