Not sure if this is xorg related or synaptics related, anyway no matter the combination of AlwaysCore and CorePointer i cannot get both to work at the sametime, (it worked fine in the previous release)

Change InputDevice "touchpad" "AlwaysCore" to InputDevice "touchpad" "SendCoreEvents".

it seems synaptics install needs an update, it is 3 years old (!) and still mentions XFree :)
@Tobias: that echo in post_install is *huge* :) can it be more compact?
