DetailsDescription:
normalize-mp3 doesn't work, it tells something about missing files. I compiled normalize manually (./configure;make) and tried the normilize-mp3-file from there, everything works fine. Here's the diff: ----------------------------------------------------------- diff normalize-mp3 normalize-mp3_original 29,34c29,34 < $MP3DECODE = "mpg123 -q -w %w %m"; < $MP3ENCODE = "lame --quiet -h -b %b %w %m"; < $OGGDECODE = "oggdec -Q -o %w %m"; < $OGGENCODE = "oggenc -Q -b %b -o %m %w"; < $FLACDECODE = "flac -s -d -o %w %m"; < $FLACENCODE = "flac -s -o %m %w"; --- > $MP3DECODE = " -q -o %w %m"; > $MP3ENCODE = " -quiet %w %m"; > $OGGDECODE = " -q -d wav -f %w %m"; > $OGGENCODE = ""; > $FLACDECODE = ""; > $FLACENCODE = ""; 38,39c38,39 < $VORBISCOMMENT = "vorbiscomment"; < $METAFLAC = "metaflac"; --- > $VORBISCOMMENT = ""; > $METAFLAC = ""; ---------------------------------------------------------- Looks like there are no encoding/decoding-programs declared. I am using normalize 0.7.7-1 Steps to reproduce: normalize-mp3 something.mp3 |

the error is still there. Why should it be gone away, there is no new
package? The package needs to be patched in the way described above.
Maybe the package was created on a nearly naked computer without mpg123
oggenc, flac, ...?
The package doesnt list any encoders as dependencies but clearly it doesnt run fine without them installed. IMO first of all the developers of the application should be informed about this and additionally rebuild the package having flac, vorbis-tools, lame and mpg123(?) as dependencies.
Let me know if now it works.
