Eugenia,

What video card/drivers do you use? This works on all the Arch systems I can get my hands on.

If nvidia, make sure Load "dri" is commented out or removed and that Load "glx" is present and not commented out.

I am using the "nv" driver. I don't want to use the "nvidia" driver (I do have it installed though) because the *2D* driver of "nvidia" is much-much slower than the "nv" driver. I know that Pinball is 3D, I just wanted to run it in software mode to check it out, MESA should have taken care of it.

DRI is commented out and GLX is not.

You know nvidia installs its own openGL libraries, overwriting the MESA OpenGL libraries? Not using the nvidia drivers while having them installed results in no 3D at all.
