Description:

Pacman fails to sync core or find core.db.tar.gz. Attempting to access ftp.archlinux.org/core from a browser gives error 550: Failed to change directory.

Just so you guys know, the mirrors appear to be fine, at least for now.

I second that.

All required changes have been made to pacman.conf -> every "current" instance replaced with "core". And in /etc/pacman.d/ current has been copied to core.

Whatever mirror I chooose - even the central archlinux mirror - pacman gives an error "failed to synchronize core".
