Description:
Intel DG33BU Motherboard[1] and can't get ACPI to work, so only one processor is detected.
The only way to get the system started is disabling acpi from kernel boot parameters (acpi=off).
I'm booting the kernel26 2.6.22.6-1, and the lastest BIOS update (09/03/07).

It is probably because there's no full support for G33 in 2.6.22 kernel yet.
2.6.23 is coming soon.

you need to wait for a newer kernel, could be .23 contains support for it.

My gigabyte G33 board is working 100% correctly, so it's not that the 2.6.22 kernel doesn't support the G33 completely. I guess this is a BIOS issue or so, updating your BIOS could help out.

As I said in my previous post, I'm using the newest BIOS update from intel.com

Roman, how soon is coming 2.6.23 aprox?
I'm asking for curiosity, because I can wait, but I'd like to know how much I will have to wait
I've seen the 2.6.23 kernel on unstable repository and I tried on my laptop because I have another acpi issues and seems to make acpi fully work on my laptop, but it's still buggy (I think that explains why it's still on unstable ;) )

kernel26mm in unstable is Andrew Morton's patchset which contains >1000 patches and is highly development.
The latest unstable vanilla kernel is 2.6.23-rc6-git6. 2.6.23 final probably will be released at the end of this month or at the beginning of October (that's just my guess).

I hope it's here so soon, I'll wait because I have other acpi related bugs in my laptop too, besides a madwifi bug too, maybe with the new kernel will be solved.

If you boot using "pci=nommconf", this should solve your problem. I had a very similar problem, and it looks like the real fix won't be available until 2.6.24

Sorry and thanx anyway. I just found this optio yesterday while trying to re-config kernel. I was tried before with pci=nommconfig as I read in some forums but witout any luck, but I haven't had time to post here, believe it or not, this is what I was just about to do.
Thanx and sorry again
