Description:

Paraview fails to launch with following error message:

/opt/paraview/bin/paraview: symbol lookup error: /opt/paraview/lib/libvtkfides.so.1: undefined symbol: _ZN6adios25ADIOSC1Eb

Everything is up-to-date. I suspect that this is easy to fix, but I don't know how to. The following libraries that match "vtkfides" are installed on my system:

/usr/lib/libvtkfides.so.1
/usr/lib/libvtkfides.so.9.2.6
/usr/lib/libvtkfides.so
/opt/paraview/lib/libvtkfides.so.5.11
/opt/paraview/lib/libvtkfides.so
/opt/paraview/lib/libvtkfides.so.1

Maybe this helps.

_ZN6adios25ADIOSC1Eb is adios2::ADIOS::ADIOS(bool) which is not provided by /usr/lib/libadios2_cxx11.so.2 from adios2 2.9.2-1 while it was in adios2 2.8.3-6 but there was no soname bump.
