Description:

between 2023-10-06 and 2023-10-07 (archive.archlinux)
a change must have happened that causes vlc to crash below aom.c when trying to play av1 encoded video
in mkv container

with 2023-10-06 snapshot, file is played without problem
with 2023-10-07 snapshot, following sigsegv occurs:

"the current packages" doesn't mean anything. It can depend on the enabled repos, the used mirrors and many other things. Please state the actual version numbers of the packages you're using.

vlc 3.0.18-17
aom 3.7.0-1
glibc 2.38-7 (has __memcpy_avx_unaligned_erms )

so with vlc 3.0.19-1 I cannot reproduce the problem anymore.
