Archlinux is still using hplip 1.X, while the latest is in the 2.X. The 2.X series has been out quite some time.

A newer (2.7.9) version is out, please update your pkgbuild nesl247.

Meanwhile, we perhaphs could put it into aur? As hplip2 or so?

Since it's been a while it seems and the maintainer of the extra package is reluctant to sort it out...

If we don't get a reply by tomorrow when I get home, I'll update it and add it to the aur as hplip2.
