DetailsOne thing I noted when having to reinstall Arch yesterday (my main hard drive had a mechanical failure) is that the auto partitioner could get a lot of improvement.
It should probably be based on percentages (with a minimum requirement), and also ask whether the user wants a swap partition (entering 0 for the size of the swap partition crashes the installer). This was inspired after I ran the auto partitioner to get a base setup for my new 300GB hard drive and it tried to give me some swap, 7.5 GB for root, and the rest for my home directory. When I say auto partitioner, I am referring to the auto option in the partition your hard drive menu. |
