Description:

Have two SANE related rules in /etc/udev/rules.d/
/etc/udev/rules.d/40-libsane.rules
/etc/udev/rules.d/S99-2000S1.rules

udev complains about two things:

1) Execution bit set
2) Both have the instruction ACTION!="add", GOTO="libsane_rules_end" - but there is no label "libsane_rules_end". There is however a LABEL="libsane_usb_rules_end" in both files.

Have tried to track down where these rules are generated / come from.
Looking at SANE it lead me to https://gitlab.com/sane-project/backends/-/issues/234
which lead me to https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=925142
which lead me to https://bugs.launchpad.net/hplip/+bug/1847477

Have downloaded the source but not been able to track down where and how these rules are generated.

I do however find this in /usr/share/hplip/plugin.spec:

[hp2000S1_plugin_17]
src=data/rules/S99-2000S1.rules
trg=/etc/udev/rules.d/S99-2000S1.rules

[hpgt2500_plugin_16]
src=data/rules/40-libsane.rules
trg=/etc/udev/rules.d/40-libsane.rules

My copy of the sources does however have neither in src/data/rules so these are perhaps dynamically generated?

Additional info:
* hplip-3.23.3

They are related to and/or generated by the binary plugin, either downloaded separately from HP via the install routine, or from the AUR [1]. Either way, not supported here and not an Arch packaging issue. See also [2][3]
