Description:
After updating the distro I could not log into my account.
Sadly I do not remember what version of the DE I had on my system before the update and I have cleared my pacman cache since then.
I have fixed the problem by removing all files related to gdm and dconf in /etc and /var and then reinstalling those two packages.
The problem returns if I try to enable auto-login on my account.

Additional info:
* package version(s): GDM 44.1-1, gnome-shell 1:44.4-1, dconf 0.40.0-2
* config and/or log files etc.: N/A, the system freezes and journalctl does not cantain any information

Steps to reproduce:
- Make sure the aforementioned package versions are installed.
- Enable automatic login in GNOME settings.
- Restart the machine and try to log into your account.
- Good luck.

Thanks for the report..but there is nothing presented here indicating an Arch packaging issue. Please also review the guidelines [1] because this report is lacking vital info like journal log files, etc.

BTW, I just tried it and it works fine for me i.e. cannot repro.

For stuff like this, you should first of all visit the proper Arch support channels (Forum/IRC/Mailing Lists/Reddit/etc) to seek troubleshooting assistance. If an Arch packaging bug ends up being identified, then of course please return here and let us know the details.
