I created a new libIDL pacman package, but I am not happy
with the way this is handled: too much unwanted work editing
that PKG file and having to figure it out, I would like more
automation. I would suggest the way "checkinstall" for
Slackware does it: You should just run "makepkg" in the
working directory and that would "emulate" a configure/make
and a
make-install installtion and record where files go where (also inline ask for specific configure attributes on the shell). And then it creates the package with all the files in the right place and asking the packager for info if needed in an inline editor. Regarding dependancies you could run ldd to check out the extra libs needed for this specific package and then compare those to the skeleton -base version of Arch. |
This task depends upon
