Details1. Open gnome-calculator.
2. Change mode to programming mode. 3. Set word-size to 64-bits in the preferences. 4. Close gnome-calculator. 5. Open gnome-calculator. 6. Open gnome-calculator once again. 7. Set word-size to 32-bits in the preferences of the FIRST gnome-calculator. 8. Set word-size to 32-bits in the preferences of the SECOND gnome-calculator. It's impossible to do the last step. You can see that the preferences of the FIRST gnome-calculator will be opened and you cannot change any preferences of the SECOND gnome-calculator. E.g. you cannot change word-size to 32-bits in the SECOND gnome-calculator to do your calculations. In fact, I cannot open two gnome-calculators in 32-bits mode on my PC. Clearly not an Arch packaging issue. You'll need to report it upstream...but I suspect the answer will be "running 2 instances like that is not supported".
