I synced and upgraded today; the problem has occurred in the last week as I last upgraded a week ago. None of IM programs in Kopete will go online KMail reports that kwalletmanager is unavailable, even if this is started manually before starting kmail. No wallets are available in the kwalletmanager, despite there being one in ~/.kde/share/apps/kwallet |

Try to (re)move you kde configuration or create another user. This shouldn`t be a generall problem; kde works for me.

yes close; I straightened things out by deleting some stuff in ~/.kde/share
