upstream patch set (also attached) allow to add "TearFree" option to modesetting driver, solving tearing especially with more exotic configurations (e.g., vertical monitors). Since modesetting is now considered the default for Intel GPUs, it would be very useful to have this patch in place. Thank you |

Patching in a new feature isn't something Arch generally does. It'll be in the next release.

I agree with @Scimmia, it's too big for a backport. We should wait for next release. Will close if no reaction from PM's.
