DetailsYour Gstreamer-0.8 and its plugins are _seriously_ hosed. Both Totem and Rhythmbox don't work (they crash when trying to play from the Radio mp3 streams etc). I even tried to recompiled their new versions (with gstreamer backend) and they would still crash upon trying to play an online radio station or a local mp3. I tried changing the sinks and src with gstreamer-properties to OSS/ALSA/ESD, but no luck.
I then tried to recompile gstreamer 0.8.1 by myself, only to find out that libmad, musicbrainz and divx4linux and a slew of other plugins could not be found by the configure script, while these libs ARE installed on my machine. It seems the fact that you install gstreamer on /opt/gnome can't find all libraries installed on /usr/lib for some reason. Please fix. Not having multimedia capability on Arch is a huge minus for me. |

Rhythmbox gives me a number of different errors (it either gives me alerts, or exis without any warning, or full freeze etc) depending which radio station I am trying to run. The list of radio stations should have worked, they all work on my Slackware and Fedora.
