Description:
I left my laptop at my desk to idle for ~30mins.
When I came back I noticed that it was incredible hot, the fans running and full speed and the system completely frozen.
I rebooted and attached the journalctl from the shutdown here.
It seems like an endless AMD driver loop?

Another thing that is weird: Usually the CPU temp should never reach higher than 80C.
It seems like with this bug the CPU temp got to 100C.

Additional info:
* Linux 6.4.3-arch1-1
* Thinkpad T14s G3 AMD (Ryzen 6850U with 680M GPU)

Reason for closing:  Upstream
Additional comments about closing:  If still happening with latest kernels, please follow up in the upstream ticket. This is not an Arch packaging issue.

Is there already an bugreport on https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/drm/amd/-/issues for this issue? If not, could you please open one?

Clearly an upstream amdgpu issue. There is no indication of an Arch packaging bug here. It needs to be reported upstream as suggested above. Please let us know what you find out.

@Utini2000, maybe fixed with >= 6.4.4?

Hard to say.. it doesn't happen very often but for now I seem to be fine.
