Apologies for the misunderstanding. Here's the text with minimal changes:

Description:

After the 3.6 LTS update, Blender stopped detecting the HIP toolkit. After quick googling, I found a 2022 forum thread with the exact same problem: https://blenderartists.org/t/hipcc-compiler-is-not-found/1389070/5. They suggest using the .tar.xz distribution from blender.org as the Arch package seems to be broken. I tried it, and everything worked, suggesting that the problem lies within the package again.

Additional info:
* blender 17:3.6.0-1
* Zen kernel
* Radeon RX 6700XT
* Fully updated as of writing this

Steps to reproduce:
1. Install ROCm/HIP runtime on an AMD GPU system
2. Open any project and setup HIP devices in Edit->Preferences->System->HIP
3. In the Render tab, select Cycles and try to render
4. Observe the "HIP hipcc compiler not found. Install HIP toolkit in default location" error.

I'm ashamed. I used it to recheck my grammar since English is not my native language. I'm sorry I can't edit this.

Do you have the "which" pkg installed? Anything logged if you run blender from a terminal?

Can you install hip-runtime-amd, add /opt/rocm/bin to your PATH and try it again?
