Description:
AUR has had the an openblas package providing blas, cblas, lapack, lapacke. Now that repo introduced the same suite under the name blas-openblas, the AUR/openblas-lapack has to be deleted. But for users who already have AUR/openblas-lapack installed, pacman won't offer the new [extra]/blas-openblas package unless it has replaces=openblas-lapack. Surely it earns some accommodation when the correctly working AUR package gets upstreamed to repo, even if under a different name.
See
FS#66092.The AUR openblas-lapack package served as a working proof-of-concept to showcase the benefits of having that package in the repo.
And a not insignificant number of Arch users had to use the AUR package when working with high-performance computing software, because of the bugs inherent in Arch repo's earlier, incomplete openblas provision.
