Description:
On XFCE (somebody reports on KDE and Enlightenment too, on GNOME it works fine), installing Firefox or Thunderbird doesn't generate menu entries and trying to start "firefox" or "thunderbird" from the terminal doesn't work. It's needed to use the full "/opt/mozilla/.../bin" path.

You will need to logout after installation of these packages and login again. These packages depend on mozilla-common, which installs a scriplet into /etc/profile.d, which gets initialized on login only.
This "bug" won't get fixed until Mozilla and friends move from /opt to /usr.
