Description:

Since commit https://gitlab.archlinux.org/archlinux/packaging/packages/pam/-/commit/5beca2b735dfb4f73db2d76f95bd0fece30bf735 , pam's PKGBUILD contains:

backup=(etc/security/{access.conf,faillock.conf,group.conf,limits.conf,namespace.conf,namespace.pwhistory.conf,init,pam_env.conf,time.conf} etc/environment)

So /etc/security/namespace.init is no longer backed up, and /etc/security/namespace.pwhistory.conf is "backed up" even though this file does not exist. This is likely a misspelling for /etc/security/pwhistory.conf, which was added in pam 1.5.3-1.

It would make sense to replace "namespace.pwhistory.conf,init" with "namespace.init,pwhistory.conf" in the pwhistory.conf variable of package pam. What do you think?

Additional info:
* package version(s): pam 1.5.3-1
