In Python 3.11 `bind_textdomain_codeset` has been removed (, but the current release of hamster still uses it. It has already been fixed on their master version with commit:

This issue was already resolved on the project's main branch:
Commenting out line 24 in /usr/lib/python3.11/site-packages/hamster/lib/ can be a temporary local hack to get hamster to start again.
