oh it does, but the default config uses some different port than in https://mmonit.com/wiki/MMonit/Setup, this should be hinted at somehow

Not sure what bug you're reporting here. There is already a service file and it comes from upstream. If there is a problem with it, please report it upstream. Refer also previous tickets  FS#32518   FS#41032 .

Re the config, there is also a Wiki entry [1] freely editable by anyone.
