Problem: The libcap package (as of version 2.68-1) does not include the file libcap.a.

Impact: Programs that use the libcap package can not be statically linked.

I believe this is a packaging issue because if I build the libcap package from source, then it builds the ./libcap/libcap.a file.

git clone https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/libs/libcap/libcap.git
cd libcap
make
make test
make sudotest
ls -l ./libcap/libcap.a

Requested action: Please add ./libcap/libcap.a to the package

This is intentional. Arch Linux doesn't ship static libraries.
