DetailsProblem: The libcap package (as of version 2.68-1) does not include the file libcap.a.
Impact: Programs that use the libcap package can not be statically linked. I believe this is a packaging issue because if I build the libcap package from source, then it builds the ./libcap/libcap.a file. git clone https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/libs/libcap/libcap.git cd libcap make make test make sudotest ls -l ./libcap/libcap.a Requested action: Please add ./libcap/libcap.a to the package Thank you for your work on ArchLinux! |

This is intentional. Arch Linux doesn't ship static libraries.
