@Kudlaty: Thanks for the ticket.

I don't think it makes a lot of sense to open all of these tickets.
We will likely create a rebuild TODO (after the py311 rebuild) for all python packages still using `python setup.py`.

Agreed. I echoed similar sentiments here [1]. @Kudlaty, the help is appreciated but there are plenty of other ways to help out [2] :)

PS: please ensure to keep an eye on these tickets you have created. If they are on a TODO action list then the maintainers don't always close them once fixed. I cannot keep track of everything.

We discussed this a bit further on IRC yesterday and it was agreed to wait after py311 rebuild is done and our package sources have been moved to git.
Afterwards it will become much easier to fix this also for externals by simply creating a merge request.
