Description:
Krita crashes on startup. I reported this bug to the Krita project and they suggested I try the AppImage instead, believing that this is an Arch Linux bug.
This package has previously worked on my system, but because I don't use Krita regularly I don't know where the regression happened.

Additional info:
Package: extra/krita 5.1.5-4
External bug report, including backtrace: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=468601

Steps to reproduce:
- Start Krita
- Move the mouse towards the "New file" area
- Crashes with segmentation fault

Can't reproduce. Can you attach the tiff files you have in the recent files list?

Thanks for that hint, I was able to find a tiff file in my directories that crashes Krita.
Moving the file away from its location solves my problem.
As the file is 56M I cannot attach it here.
But perhaps this should be an upstream report instead?

Yes, please follow up on the upstream report

I can't reproduce this on the AppImage version of Krita.

Here is a link to the file that causes a crash:

That file won't open in krita for me in a fresh Plasma VM. It crashes out...but interestingly coredumpctl doesn't record it. I tried manually running in gdb and it seems libtiff related...but couldn't get a backtrace with symbols because the VM ran out of mem.

There is some upstream activity at https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=468601 where some TIFF related code were patched.
Perhaps try building the latest git head?
