Description:
A number of what appear to be exclusively Arch Linux users are seeing crashes when attempting firmware updates after installing 1.8.13. There is an upstream bug here: https://github.com/fwupd/fwupd/issues/5656 I can confirm this issue on a Dell Inspiron 3501. My crash details don't appear to be distinct in any interesting way from those reported in the upstream bug. Users have reported that downgrading the Arch package solves the problem. As this might be a packaging or Arch specific issue, I'm reporting it here. Steps to reproduce: 1. Attempt a system firmware update on any system after updating the fwupd Arch package to 1.8.13. |

Update: a possible fix for this was merged upstream, so we're just
waiting on a release.
Since quickfix 1.8.14 update works well again.
