DetailsDescription:
After installing "plasma" and "networkmanager", the systemsettings app allows to import a vpn connection, but crashed as soon as a file is selected in the file selection window. This is solved by manually installing missing networkmanager-openvpn package. I think this package should probably be pulled as a dependency somewhere. Additional info: # sudo pacman -Q | grep -i plas kdeplasma-addons 5.27.2-1 plasma-browser-integration 5.27.2-1 plasma-desktop 5.27.2-1 plasma-disks 5.27.2-1 plasma-firewall 5.27.2-1 plasma-framework 5.104.0-1 plasma-integration 5.27.2-1 plasma-nm 5.27.2-1 plasma-pa 5.27.2-1 plasma-sdk 5.27.2-1 plasma-systemmonitor 5.27.2-1 plasma-thunderbolt 5.27.2-1 plasma-vault 5.27.2-1 plasma-welcome 5.27.2-1 plasma-workspace 5.27.2-1 plasma-workspace-wallpapers 5.27.2-1 #sudo pacman -Q | grep -i network glib-networking 1:2.74.0-1 networkmanager 1.42.4-1 networkmanager-openvpn 1.10.2-1 networkmanager-qt 5.104.0-1 * config and/or log files etc. - * link to upstream bug report, if any - Steps to reproduce: 1. Have plasma and networkmanager installed, via "plasma" and "networkmanager" 2. Have an "*.ovpn" file being a valid Open VPN profile file. 3. Open System Settings, under "Network" select Connections 4. Use the "+" icon at the bottom, under the list of configured connections. 5. Scroll down, and under "Other" select "Import VPN connection" 6. Select the "*.ovpn" file. 7. System Settings crashes, and the crash handler is invoked ( it says my backtrace was useless, probably because it's not a debug build ) Installing "networkmanager-openvpn" fixes this problem immediately, with zero additional steps required. |
