DetailsDescription:
The Upgrade from libvpx 1.12.0-2 to 1.13.0-1 replaces libvpx.so.7 with libvpx.so.8 but many dependent packages are not yet rebuild to link against the new version of then library and therefor break. I noticed this trying to start the chromium browser which depends on ffmpeg, which in turn depends on libvpx. Additional info: * package version(s): libvpx 1.13.0-1 chromium 110.0.5481.177-1 ffmpeg-obs 5.1.2-2 mplayer 38407-1 [probably many more] Steps to reproduce: 1. Upgrade libvpx to 1.13.0-1 2. Try to run any of the applications still linked against libvpx.so.7: % mplayer mplayer: error while loading shared libraries: libvpx.so.7: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory % ffmpeg ffmpeg: error while loading shared libraries: libvpx.so.7: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory % chromium /usr/lib/chromium/chromium: error while loading shared libraries: libvpx.so.7: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory |
