Description:

As described here [0] and here [1], grim is used under the hood by Flameshot. It's an hard-requirement to have it installed, otherwise Flamshot won't work.

There are some extra information here [0] and here [1].

That could even be fixed by using DUSE_WAYLAND_GRIM=true at compiling time, but according to [1] it's not yet clear if that could break DE not based on wlsroot like KDE Plasma Wayland and Gnome Wayland. So, it's maybe wait and see how this evolves in GH.
