DetailsThe libvirt-guests systemd service which is installed as part of the libvirt package is not enabled by default.
To my understanding this leads to all running guests being forced off by default (instead of a graceful shutdown) when the host system is shutdown. I think this is a dangerous default that can potentially lead to data corruption on guests and thus the default should be changed to enabled for this service. This will cause running guests to be automatically resumed/started when the host is booted again, even if these guests don't have the autostart option set. However, I think this changed behavior is preferable over the potential data loss, since a forced off by default is probably not a behavior that users expect. |
