Description:
Current gamescope compositor on Intel hardware will crash when run embedded (i.e. directly from tty or a session script).
The fix is found for Mesa by patching ANV driver with this patch: https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/mesa/mesa/-/merge_requests/17182.patch
See discussion: https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/mesa/mesa/-/merge_requests/17182

Since there are a couple patches in the packaging for making mesa more game-friendly this can be a good addition and allow for packaging gamescope in their newest version (being outdated for a long time now).

Steps to reproduce:
On an updated Arch Linux over intel hardware (iGPU or dGPU) switch to a TTY and run:

$ gamescope --vkcube

or

$ gamescope -- glxgears

gamescope will assert and crash.

In general, it needs to be applied upstream for Arch to consider.

In general I agree. But I saw some other patches regarding ANV to work around crashes for specific games like AOE 2 being applied. Not saying is responsibility of the distro to fix them all but this one single patch opens the possibility for Gamescope to work embedded on Intel hardware, hoping to be considered.
Thanks for your time.
