- qmk console = console.py (https://github.com/qmk/qmk_cli/blob/master/qmk_cli/subcommands/console.py) depends on python-hid
- qmk console is used for debugging output from devices (https://qmk.github.io/qmk_mkdocs/master/en/cli_commands/#qmk-console), it is not required for firmware compilation for instance
