Description:
1.0.0-1 from testing removed libaio dependency and broke lvm2.

lvm[750]: /usr/bin/lvm: error while loading shared libraries: libaio.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

The bug here, I guess, that libaio was a transitive dependency to lvm2 (via thin-provisioning-tools), but should be a direct one?

Please try with lvm2 2.03.18-2, that should fix all dependencies.

Added a make dependency in svn trunk. Does this suffice or do we need a new package?

New pkg please. Otherwise, once it hits [core] it'll technically be FTBFS, unreproducible, etc.
