DetailsI have a laptop of a following configuration
``` 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Alder Lake-P Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 0c) 01:00.0 3D controller: NVIDIA Corporation GA107M [GeForce RTX 3050 Mobile] (rev a1) ``` I am trying to connect an external display via HDMI port but with no success. I've reached out for help in Arch forum but nobody could help me, so I'm pretty sure it's a bug. Here's the topic https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=282968 I believe the problem is i915 driver. |
Yes, but not an Arch packaging bug, it's an *upstream* bug. Which means you'll need to report it and/or seek help upstream. But it's probably worth trying a mainline kernel first to see if the problem is already fixed or not. Please see the pinned comment here [1] for a precompiled mainline kernel you can install. Otherwise, the general kernel troubleshooting steps are documented here [2]. Please let us know what you find out.
So I compiled and installed linux-mainline from the source. It looks like the problem is still here because I see a similar stacktrace and HDMI still not working. Here's boot logs
i915 issues can be reported upstream here [1]
