App starts up fine for me in a fresh VM (although I haven't logged in and set anything up). The log suggests something is up with your shares config. Maybe corruption and/or an upstream bug? Have you reported upstream?

I did not reported on upstream. Removing the ~/.local/share/nicotine and ~/.config did not help. Maybe its something with my pytohn installation if it works for you in the VM. Will check the github bug report.
