Details

Recently updated to edk2-ovmf-202211 from edk2-ovmf-202208. Reversing the update solves the problem. Running a Win 10 VM with GPU passthrough. With the 202211 version, the TianoCore logo never comes up, and the boot hangs at 16% with a black screen. Have to use virsh to force shutdown/destroy. Downgrading completely reversed the problem.

Forgot to mention: removing the pass through device did not solve the problem, and I am using secure boot in the VM.

Evidently you forgot to search for duplicates [1].
