With unison 2.53, the gtk2 version of the GUI has been replaced by a gtk3 version, named unison-gtk3.
The .desktop file shipped still refers to the -gtk2 variant.

I happily can help maintaining unison. I use it daily, I provide builds for Debian stable/testing/unstable of the latest version etc.
