The -intel driver is not recommended for anything after 2006 models. Also the driver is pretty unmaintained upstream and a strong removal candidate.

yes I know but it works very well with this patch and is much faster than modesetting because the SNA acceleration.

Then do a custom build. I won't touch that driver until it gets finally removed from the repos.
