Details

Nvidia driver (520.56.06-8) stopped working after kernel update (6.0.6-arch1-2 - testing). The following errors are displayed:

systemd-modules-load[275]: Failed to find module 'nvidia-uvm'

$ nvidia-smi
NVIDIA-SMI has failed because it couldn't communicate with the NVIDIA driver. Make sure the latest NVIDIA driver is installed and running.

Usually the Nvidia driver is updated with every kernel update. This time there was no such update in the repository. It wasn't a kernel version change, the update was for fixes (OpenSSL 3.0 rebuild). But the Nvidia driver stopped working.

confirmed that reverting to core/linux-6.0.5 restores graphical interface

With the Nvidia driver update (520.56.06-9) and kernel update (6.0.7.arch1-1) available in the testing repository everything worked correctly again.
