DetailsThere is a nasty performance issue introduced in GNOME 42, that affects NVIDIA users that have a mouse with high polling rate (1000 Hz).
Bug report: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/-/issues/2233 Comment from NVIDIA developer saying this will be fixed in their next driver release: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/-/issues/2233#note_1575235 Merge request from GNOME developer that fixes things in Mutter: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/-/merge_requests/2652 Unfortunately though, even if the next NVIDIA driver release fixes the issue, it won't affect people on older GPUs that have to stay on legacy (yet supported) drivers (e.g. the 470xx series). So, before GNOME 43 is finally packaged on Arch, can you please include that patch from the GNOME developer? I can at least confirm it improves the performance issue greatly and, most importantly, it applies cleanly against Mutter 42.5. Thank you very much. |

43.0 is in the official repos, it doesn't matter anymore.
