I'm using Manjaro Linux KDE edition.
Telegram Desktop's tray icon is white, as expected on a dark background, but at random times it switches to a black icon which is almost invisible on the same dark background.

See upstream report.

They told me:
- try their official version. Obviously not gonna do that, I'm using packages for a reason.
- probably a Plasma bug, as they are not "aware" of this "recoloring" of the icon.

On the second one, I don't think they know what they're talking about. I may be wrong.
I've never seen any other icon change color. I don't think Plasma "recolors" icons.
It seems to me more likely that there are two icons, one white(ish) for dark themes and one black(ish) for light themes, and for some reason at some point the icon gets switched, probably because of a wrong setting somewhere, probably in the package given that the authors of the upstream devs deny it's their doing.
Or, there are two _sets_ of icons (icons for different states), dark and light, and some of the icons in the light set is either dark or missing.
This task depends upon
