Description:

After installing nxcommon and nxserver, I tried to connect to my box remotely. The connection would fail saying something about a kde file that was missing. I was attempting to connect and run a gnome-session, but it still errored out before I could connect saying something about kde.

Error:
/opt/NX/bin/nxloadconfig: line 285: /opt/kde/bin/kde-config: No such file or directory
HELLO NXSERVER - Version 1.5.0-61-SVN OS (GPL)
NX> 105 Killed by signal 15.

I fixed it by installing "kdelibs" therefore I feel it should be added as a dependency.

It is possible that it could be an issue in the config file or elsewhere, but I have not had time to debug any further. Installing kdelibs does however fix the problem quickly and easily. I have had time to test it on another pc both of which had this problem, and were fixed by installing "kdelibs"

This problem occurs with both connecting from a linux box and windows box; it is a server side issue.

If there is anything else I need to provide, let me know.

what architecture?

I have only tested this on i686, but I would assume it is present in both architectures. I don't have an x86_64 install to test it on at the moment, but I'll see if I can take some time this weekend and install it on another hd on my desktop to test this for sure.

i would assume you set kde usage in config file on server.

I didn't change anything with the provided node.conf to enable anything KDE related, might I have to explicitly tell the server not to do anything with KDE?

well the default is i guess set to kde, because nx is/was ever kde centric.
i'll look at it soon when i bump nx to version 3.0, but this will need some time/testing till it happens.
