DetailsSTFL (Structured Terminal Forms Language/Library) has a shady looking website [1] with a lot of casino advertisement all around and there has been no activity in the repo since a long time. Most of the website links do not resolve. The new development, although quite modest with just a few harmless bug fixes are done by the newsboat developers, which is also the main source [2] for SFTL now.
There is no new release done as of yet, but we should definitely make a switch. There is an open issue on github [3], which also mentions the shady elements and non resolving links and svn sources. We should not need to point to the archive.org or use static ip address assignments to reach any of the above. The new ownership is also unknown or to put it mildly: strange. Please, even if there is no official release by the newsboat developers, because of their intention to reach out to the old maintainer or whomever [3] and point to the new upstream, let's make the switch and avoid the hassle. [1]: https://clifford.at/stfl [2]: https://github.com/newsboat/stfl [3]: https://github.com/newsboat/stfl/issues/2 [4]: https://github.com/newsboat/stfl.git?signed Additional info: * >= stfl-0.24 and any release before. * Maybe rebuild Newsboat afterwards. Steps to reproduce: * Visit [1], notice the advertisements, non-resolving links. * Apply the stfl.diff and switch upstream URL to [2] and also switch source array in the PKGBUILD to [4]. * Added the Newsboat project's PGP key for validation as is done with the PKGBUILD of Newsboat itself. * Build from source and enjoy. :) |

To be precise here: "The new ownership is also unknown or to put it mildly: strange." Is meant that the old maintainer(s) of STFL or whoever is the new owner of [1] and also svn, mailserver, etc. registrar is strange.
