Details

Wine does not work on systems with clean wayland installed (without xwayland). Please compile wine [multilib] with wayland support from the https://gitlab.collabora.com/alf/wine/#wayland branch. (i think we need --with-wayland flag)

Arch generally compiles from the main upstream repo. wayland support will come when upstream includes it. There is some mention about wayland support in the wiki [1].
