Description:

Since updating to kernel linux-zen 5.19.6.zen1-1
My kernel log started getting full of warnings of energy_full being greater than energy_full_design.
Before the update, this warning would pop up for me about two times per month but no more.

Leaving my laptop unattended for a couple of hours and upon returning to it it was unresponsive and the caps locks key was blinking. (which AFAIK indicates an issue with power)

Laptop model: ThinkPad P15 Gen 2i

Additional info:
* package version(s)
linux-zen 5.19.6.zen1-1
* config and/or log files etc.
Attached the log from last boot.
* link to upstream bug report, if any

Steps to reproduce:
Repeats by itself every few minutes as long as the laptop is on.

If that is the cause it is also covered in  FS#75666 .

Yes I believe at least some of these issues are related. A temporary workaround would be to use the linux-lts kernel.

I have a similar issue to this on a Dell XPS 15 9520. Since my last update sddm-greeter takes several minutes to initialize and throws out a core dump, and there is a kernel "null pointer" when systemd starts upower. I'll open a report for sddm later, since upower is the focus.

You'll see later in the log I'm playing with upower through systemctl and getting kernel errors each time.

My system isn't dumping repeats of the error in my log like OP, it causes the upower service to hang and throws the kernal dump out.

Kernel: 5.19.7-arch1-1
CPU: 12th Gen Intel i5-12500H

@gravityfargo the issue should be fixed in linux 5.19.8.arch1-1 currently in testing.

thank you for the update!

There seems to be multiple issues at play here. Can we please keep separate issues separate?

Anyway, is the issue still happening with latest kernels?
